Malta for Children

Maltese are very child-friendly, the little guests are welcome everywhere. Besides the variety of swimming paradises there is a lot to discover for elder children on Malta, e.g. being a knight for a day, discovering knight's armours, ancient weapons, watch towers, battlements and glorious palaces.

Popeye & Co.

A special highlight for children is a visit in Popeye Village close to Mellieha Bay. 1979 a film set for the picturisation of the comic strip Popeye was built, a pirate village with crooked houses and plank piers. Most of the timber houses can be used and visited today. Over the day there are various events for children. A highlight is the tiny candies factory, here the children can watch how candies are made. Playmobil

Meanwhile nearly every Playmobil toy figure is manufactured on Malta. Since the 70ies the Playmobil company manufactures on Malta, 75 million figures p.a. In Halfar (bus no. 13 from Valletta) there is a new production plant including a Playmobil Fun Park (business hours: from 10 am to 6 pm daily). In the great play ground hall the children can play with a thousand toy figures, no matter if it is a corsair, knight's castle or a giant crane, everything can be tried and played with. If booked in advance you can visit the production plants on Tuesdays. Of course, there is also a small Playmobil shop.

Mediterraneo Marine Park

A visit in Aqua park Mediterraneo is a must. Here you will find parrots, sea lions and a great dolphin show. Extraordinary dolphin lovers can swim with the dolphins and a trainer after advance reservation. Moreover there is a reptiles house, a carousel and a cafeteria.

Splash and Fun Park

Next door there is a big water park, the Splash and Fun Park, which offers great entertainment for the entire family. Here you will find big slides, a river installation with water falls, a big swimming pool with artificial waves and big water playground for the little ones. Moreover there is a show, a restaurant and of course, a scenic view on the sea.
