In the mainly Catholic Malta Easter has a very special significance for the Maltese. Highlight is the procession on Good Friday. Life-size statues describe the Passion of Jesus Christ and other scenes from the Old Testament. On Easter Sunday are further traditional procession everywhere with the statue of the Risen Christ. On Monday the Maltese celebrate the Easter feast often outdoors at the beautiful spring sun.
